Without question, this girl has moxie! Known as our rescue's runway model, Moxie is beautiful, fit, and knows how to give the looks...the "I'm pitiful" look, the "I'm gorgeous" look, and the "I'm totally innocent" look. She also knows how to lay on the charm to make you melt. To boot, she always makes you laugh. Moxie is an all around, awesome girl! Moxie is about a year and a half to two years old, 83lbs and still growing. She is a very agile and playful girl, despite her long legs and big frame, and can leap over other Great Pyrenees with ease. She's a playful girl, always running around with her buddies, be it in the house or the yard. She loves to ramble about and have a good time with them, and is attached to a dog all of the time. She would make a great companion for another playful dog and be very lonely without one. She has walked away from the cats she's met after they hissed at her, showing no aggression, but she would probably try to play with them as if they were a dog. Moxie has a strong roaming tendency, true to her breed mix. As a result she must have at least a 5 or 6ft tall fence, no exceptions, for she can easily clear a 4ft with her long legs and grace. She must also be watched at doors, for she loves to go ride and gallivant, and she will bolt out the door and down the road, ignoring you when you call her. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a car, she is very polite when she meets new people. Moxie is HEARTWORM POSITVE and will need to continue to be monitored and given Heartguard as a result. While we planned on treating her. the manufacturer of the medication used to treat heartworms has been placed on an indefinite hold. As a result we do not have access to this medication to treat her. She HAS had a complete work up, including bloodwork and radiographs, and she is in great health otherwise. She will need to be monitored and retested until she tests negative, and of course kept on heartworm preventative for the remainder of her life. As a result of still being positive for heartworms, she will need to hold off on long walks and a lot of powerful activity until she tests negative, for her safety. Moxie loves a good chair or bed to snuggle in, enjoys playing with her toys, and she'll lay her big head on you for attention or to let you know she has to go potty. She is uber kissable and huggable, and she is full of comedy to keep you in stitches and smiling all of the time. Her great expressions, enormous smile and big heart make her so much fun and so incredibly lovable. If you'd like to meet her and see for yourself, just let us know!
